Mushroom gummies, answered.

What are mushroom gummies?

Chewable food supplements made with functional mushroom extracts, so you can take mushrooms like Lion's Mane and Reishi without capsules, powders or mushroom coffee. They are not the same as magic mushroom gummies, which contain psilocybin and are illegal in the UK. StarShroooms holds six functional mushrooms and Panax Ginseng in one blackcurrant gummy. GlowShroooms focuses on one, Tremella, as a 200:1 extract with vitamin C and zinc. Both are vegan and caffeine free, and both are taken at two a day.

Do mushroom gummies work?

It depends on what you expect and what is in the gummy. Functional mushrooms have long traditions of use, and some have human trials behind them: Lion's Mane has small trials on memory and focus, Cordyceps a 12 week exercise trial, and Reishi a 2026 conference trial in adults with insomnia. Much of the rest is in the lab or in animals, and none of it tested our gummies. Look for named mushrooms with extract ratios on the label. Our research page labels every study by type, so you can judge it yourself.

Which mushrooms are in StarShroooms?

Six, plus Panax Ginseng. Each two gummy serving contains:

  • Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum), 20:1 extract
  • Chaga (Inonotus obliquus), 10:1 extract
  • Maitake (Grifola frondosa), 10:1 extract
  • Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus), 2:1 extract
  • Cordyceps sinensis, whole mushroom powder
  • Tremella polysaccharides
  • Panax Ginseng, full spectrum root

It also gives you 12mg of vitamin B5 (200% NRV), which contributes to normal mental performance and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, and 100µg of iodine (67% NRV). The full label is on the product page.

What does a 20:1 extract mean?

It tells you how concentrated the mushroom is. For a 20:1 Reishi extract, 20kg of dried mushroom goes into every 1kg of extract, so each gummy carries far more mushroom than the same weight of raw powder. Our Chaga and Maitake are 10:1, Lion's Mane is 2:1, and the Tremella in GlowShroooms is 200:1. Many mushroom gummies use raw powder and do not state a ratio, which makes them hard to compare. If a label lists a mushroom with no ratio or form, ask the brand.

Are mushroom gummies legal and safe?

Functional mushroom gummies like ours are legal food supplements in the UK. They contain no psilocybin and will not make you feel high. StarShroooms and GlowShroooms are third party tested and GMP certified, and every ingredient is on the label. Most adults can take them daily, but avoid them if you have a mushroom allergy. Be wary of gummies sold online as magic or psychedelic mushroom gummies: psilocybin is a Class A drug in the UK, so products that hint at it are either illegal or mislabelled.

Do mushroom gummies contain caffeine?

Ours do not. There is no caffeine in any Innooova gummy, so you can take them any time of day, including before bed. That is the main difference from mushroom coffee, which pairs mushroom extracts with the caffeine in the coffee itself. StarShroooms was created as a caffeine free alternative to it. If you still enjoy a morning coffee, you can have it alongside your gummies. Our guide to mushroom gummies vs mushroom coffee compares the two in detail.

How long do mushroom gummies take to work?

They are not fast acting. Some customers say they notice a change in the first week, but mushroom extracts are meant to be taken daily, and the human trials on these ingredients ran for 4 to 16 weeks. We suggest one full pack of StarShroooms or GlowShroooms, 30 days at two a day, as a fair test. The 180 gummy StarShroooms Triple Pack covers three months for £69.95. If you are not satisfied, our 30 day money back promise lets you ask for a refund.

How many should I take?

Two a day. A 60 pack lasts a month and the 180 triple pack lasts three months. There is no reason to take more than two, and the labels say not to exceed the recommended intake. For daytime, take StarShroooms with breakfast; to wind down, take them 30 to 60 minutes before bed. GlowShroooms can go at any time, most often with breakfast. You can take StarShroooms and GlowShroooms together, as they are different products made to be combined.

Are they vegan?

Yes. StarShroooms and GlowShroooms are vegan, gelatine free and set with fruit pectin, where many mushroom gummies use gelatine. StarShroooms is also free from dairy, gluten, caffeine and artificial flavouring, sweetened with sugar and steviol glycosides and coloured with anthocyanins. GlowShroooms is coloured with anthocyanins too. The only gummy in our range that is not vegan is Renewa, the creatine gummy, which contains gelatine and no mushrooms.

Are mushroom gummies better than capsules or mushroom coffee?

Each has trade-offs. Capsules can hold more of a single mushroom per serving and contain no sugar. Mushroom coffee is a drink you may already make every morning, but it usually brings caffeine with it. Gummies are the easiest to take anywhere, need no water or kettle and taste good, though each piece has limited space and a little sugar. StarShroooms fits six mushroom extracts and Panax Ginseng into two gummies, where a typical mushroom gummy has one to three.

Can I try before committing?

Yes. A 10 gummy StarShroooms Trial Pack is £4.99, and there is a GlowShroooms Trial Pack at the same price, each lasting about five days. After that, the StarShroooms Full Pack is £24.99, or £19.99 on a subscription that saves 20%, and you can skip, pause or cancel any time. Every order is sent by tracked UK delivery, usually within 2 to 3 working days, and comes with our 30 day money back promise.

Who should check with a GP first?

Most adults can take them, but talk to your GP or pharmacist first if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking prescription medication or under medical supervision, and show them the full ingredient list. Some mushroom extracts, including Reishi, may interact with blood thinners or blood pressure medicines, so mention those in particular. StarShroooms contains iodine, which matters if you have a thyroid condition. Avoid our mushroom gummies if you have a mushroom allergy, and do not give them to under 18s.
