Kalma in the morning, Starshroooms at night
Two gummies with breakfast, two before bed. That's the whole routine. Here's how it fits around a normal working day, and why we split the two products this way.
7.30am: two Kalma with breakfast
Kalma is our ashwagandha gummy. Each one has ashwagandha root extract, concentrated 10:1 and standardised to 5% withanolides, plus Vitamin B6. B6 contributes to normal psychological function and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Taking them with breakfast is mostly about habit. Ashwagandha can be taken at any time of day, and in the human trials it was often taken twice a day. Tying it to a meal you never skip makes it easy to remember, and some people find supplements sit better on a full stomach.
The apple flavour helps too. Kalma is set with fruit pectin and coloured with black carrot, so it's vegan.
9am to 6pm: the day happens
Nothing to do here. Neither product contains caffeine, so your morning coffee carries on as normal.
A word on expectations. The ashwagandha trials we cite ran for six to ten weeks, and people answered stress and sleep questionnaires at the end. Give any daily supplement a full month before deciding whether it suits you.
9.45pm: two Starshroooms
Starshroooms goes in 30 to 60 minutes before bed. It's built around Reishi at a 20:1 extract, our most concentrated, with Lion's Mane, Cordyceps, Chaga, Maitake and Tremella, full spectrum Panax Ginseng, Vitamin B5 and iodine. Vitamin B5 contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Why at night when it also has Lion's Mane and ginseng in it? Reishi is our most concentrated extract and has a long history as an evening tonic, so we put the whole gummy at the end of the day. You can take Starshroooms in the morning instead if that suits you better. It's caffeine free either way.
We suggest pairing it with something you already do every night, such as brushing your teeth, so it becomes automatic. There's more on that in our wind down routine guide.
Is it fine to take both?
Yes. Every Innooova gummy is made to be taken alongside the others. Kalma and Starshroooms together are four gummies a day.
Kalma contains ashwagandha, which some people should avoid. Speak to your GP first if you're pregnant, trying to conceive or breastfeeding, have a thyroid or liver condition, have an autoimmune condition, take regular medication, or have surgery coming up. We've written about who should and shouldn't take ashwagandha in more detail.
Adding Grooovy Greeens
Some people add a third: two Grooovy Greeens at lunch, with fruit and vegetable powders and inulin fibre. All three come together in the Mind, Body & Soul bundle, 60 gummies of each for £69.95, or as a five day trial for £12.99.
A week of the routine
| Time | What | Why then |
|---|---|---|
| Breakfast | 2 Kalma | Easy to remember with a meal |
| Lunch (optional) | 2 Grooovy Greeens | Any time works, lunch is a handy anchor |
| 30 to 60 minutes before bed | 2 Starshroooms | Reishi as part of your wind down |
If you miss a dose, skip it and carry on the next day. There's no need to double up.
