What is Chaga?
Chaga looks more like burnt charcoal than a mushroom. The black outer crust is rich in melanin, and inside it is a soft, rusty orange. It grows slowly, taking years to form on a single tree.
How Chaga has been used
In Russia and across Scandinavia, chaga has been dried and brewed into an earthy tea for centuries, sometimes as a coffee substitute. Today it is one of the most popular mushrooms for everyday wellbeing.
Research on Chaga is mostly in the lab so far, looking at the antioxidant compounds it contains.
